John
doesn't know the meaning of the word "hurry"
ignores anything resembling "no" or "please pick that up"
talks in complete essays
does everything all by himself
forgets nothing
loves the "ready, set, GO...ldfish!" game

Edmund
smiles and coos at anything that has eyes
will not even consider taking a pacifier even for a second, and how dare you?
gets bathed and lotioned up more than Johnny ever did. Ever.
seems to have blue eyes, which surprises his mother with almost every blink
toots skillfully and prolifically
still refuses to lift his head when lying on his stomach

Jeremy
sucks cough drops and avoids speaking (but that's temporary)
keeps us stocked in homemade ice cream and freshly-blenderized smoothies
is listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks while he commutes
knows nearly everything, in a good way
takes excellent care of his teeth
wishes he had more time to work in the garden, bake, take his wife on fabulous vacations

Ann
feeds the baby
forgets about the loaf of bread or load of laundry she's started
frets, worries, and reads blogs too much
wishes she had more availability to practice sewing
is between novels (reading, not writing) unless you count The Mayor of Casterbridge (I'm on page 96) which might be too depressing for me
dreams bizarre things about purple baby poo, kidnapping her friend's children, and super absorbent toddler underwear

need to get rid of lots of clutter
have a pot of cilantro on the balcony
wish our van's automatic doors worked correctly
eat two meals together as a family every single day and sometimes three
await anxiously the ripening of 5 mangos from Costco
