A New Year--The Inspiring Post

What does it say about me that I've been meaning to write a new year's resolutions (sort of) post for 10 whole days (ok, make that 11) without any success?  Well, if you think that means I haven't started actually doing my new year's resolutions, then you're right.  I have a page where I've written them down.  And I read through them every day. But I haven't done them yet.  At least not perceptibly.

It's the imperceptible changes that really matter.  Don't you think?

I know this doesn't sound like I'm successfully moving forward in a positive direction, but I think I am.  I am happier (by about a thousand times) than I was last year at this time.  Last year, my January posts were cheery but they were me talking myself into cheerfully getting through January.  This year, I don't have to pretend it--I'm genuinely okay with the fact that it's January.  And that I'm me.

So what's my next step?

As I read through my page of resolutions or goals, I realize that I haven't started on some of them because I don't know how to get from where I am to where that goal would put me.  I need to spend a little time making some of these plan more concrete.  I've got to be able to do something today on each one.  Make it happen.

I'd like to do that for myself.  Get started.  Move.

One of these days.

I believe I was very wise this year. I made only one resolution, not that I don't need improvement in many many areas. But that may be anothr story.
One resolution. And so far, I'm doing it.
Hooray for me.
Now, I hope writing this does not derail me somehow.
But that's foolish. It's all up to me, after all.
